Perfection

Imagine a perfect world. There is no death, or sickness, or fear. Everyone lives forever in harmony, wars are long extinct. The weather is always pleasant, no more natural disasters to worry about. Human beings no longer have the capacity to fight with one another, or disagree with one another, or be evil or unempathetic to others. Everyone’s serotonin is at optimum levels, mental health issues are no longer a problem. As a matter of fact, the word “problem” is no longer part of the human vocabulary.

Sounds wonderful, right?

Now, imagine a human being that has never struggled in their lives. Imagine a soul that has never been challenged, that has never cried, that has never hurt so badly that they got down on their knees and wished they were dead. Imagine a person that has never lost anything, that has never missed anything, that has never had to struggle and fight and sacrifice many things to get what they want, to achieve what makes them who they really know they are. Imagine a human specimen that has never woken up with any type of need to satisfy.

What would that human look like?

I don’t know about you but, for some reason, this perfect humanoid ideal scares the shit out of me.

What makes “you” what you really are?
