I hate to say it because I am not the contemptuous type, and I don’t like looking over my shoulder expecting the approval of others. But I must accept that a man who does not have someone to prove wrong, who does not have his own integrity to defend, who was been underestimated, who is pleasantly confined within a circle of admiration does not usually have the drive to do what it takes to achieve some of his highest potential. I wish this was not the way, but mother nature has made us competitive that way.
Even the man that considers himself not to have external enemies must always uphold honor in the battle against himself, and the man he was yesterday.
